A Friends Place at the Terminal

I was waiting for line 2 to come in. The security guard, a friendly guy, said one day...you know this would make a great sitcom for TV...  He was referring to the bus terminal with all the different kinds of folks waiting to catch their line. Take the concept of the long-running TV show, Friends, and create a story from it for TV. That little converstaion gave me this idea. What I learn every day riding the bus.

I got to say, it was not my intention to be riding the bus this summer. I have never ridden a bus before. Wtih my car breaking down, high gas costs, and then buses running all over the place close to where I live, I decided to give it a shot. I quickly realized... there is a whole culture of its own out here. Not bad folks, all rather unique. It's a bus culture. A daily fascinating experience.

Thus... the reason for this blog. To capture the spirit, happenings, interesting events of the bus culture. So this is my report of ... the bus culture experience.

Public transportation is a good thing. More should check it out. In a few weeks I learned the ropes and how it worked. "Don't be a snob, get in and enjoy the ride." went through my mind. One book I just finished reading, The Charge, suggested you do something totally different. It refreshes your creativity and energy in life. So I did, and I have gotten more ideas waiting for the bus and riding on the bus than I have gotten in a long time. The brainchild of a brand new personal development program came while I was waiting for a bus early one Sunday morning.

It's my hope that the experiences, incidences of the day, unusual encounters, budding bus thoughts....
may bring more life to the life of anyone who may read these short episodes of the bus culture experience.
